One cold dark December evening, a family starts getting ready for Hanukkah. The menorah with its nine candles burns brightly while Nora and Dan, the older children, flip latkes, which are special potato pancakes, out of the frying pan and high into the air. IN his room Sam is using clay to make a dreydel, a special top which Jewish children and their friends play with during Hanukkah. Little Moe goes from room to room excited by all the preparations.

Then at last the family comes together; Nora, Dan, Sam, Moe, Grandma Rose, Mama, and Papa all sit down at the table for their special meal. Of course there are more wonderful things to come after the last bites of the feast are eaten. It is going to be a wonderful evening.

In this charming little board book young readers will find a text which is easy to understand but which also goes a long way to describe what a warm and happy family Hanukkah celebration is like.
