Good Night Farm

The sun is setting and the farm animals are “settling down for the night.” The cows have been milked, the pigs have been fed, and now that the day is coming to a close it is time for everyone to go to bed. Except for Owl. She is just waking up and soon she floats out into the purpling sky to see what is going on around the farm.

Owl flies over a mama piglet and her babies who, after they “wriggle and jiggle,” snuggle together in a pile of happily slumbering pinkness. In the stable the horses whisper goodnight to each other, and in the field the scarecrow rests after working hard all day to keep the birds out of the crops.

As she flies around the farm Owl sees cows, chickens, the silent tractor, a duck in the pond, and sheep sleeping in a field.

In this cunning little board book, rhyming verse, wonderful illustrations, and textured surfaces to explore, offer children a soothing bedtime book experience. With Owl as their companion, they will visit the residents of a farm in eight different locations until, at last, the sun starts to come up on the horizon and it is Owl’s turn to close her eyes.
