Vicki's summer promises to be rather a dull one. She plans to spend much of her time working at her father's restaurant, Ye Olde Seashell Room. Her plans are suddenly changed however when she discovers something about the figurehead from an old ship which hangs on the wall of the restaurant. The Storm Goddess was a ship whose quartermaster was Vicki's ancestor and she has always had a fondness for the figurehead. The morning after she makes her discovery the most peculiar things start to happen in her quiet little seaside village. First the sea recedes, and then the hulk of an old ship appears in the harbor and it is none other than that of The Storm Goddess herself.
When Vicki starts to see the ghost of the quartermaster, she has to accept that there is something is very wrong with The Storm Goddess. Something dreadful happened on that ship hundreds of years ago and it is up to her to try to put things right.
This gripping story will appeal to readers who enjoy a mystery and who have a fondness for adventure, ghost, and pirate tales. Full of unexpected plot twists, well crafted, and with sympathetic characters, readers of this book will have no difficulty taking a trip into the past just as Vicki does.
