Children learn in different ways and grownups are constantly trying to come up with creative tools to help their children learn their letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. Practice is always needed but how do we get children to practice without them giving up because they get bored?
In this board book children will find a touch and trace element on every page that allows them to practice how to write each letter of the alphabet, both the upper and lower case forms. In addition, they are given a picture and a small piece of text to look at, and then there is a flap to lift. Under the flap there is another picture with more text.
For example, on the D page we see how to write a big D and a small one. We see a picture of a black and white dog and a piece of text tells us “Dd is for dog.” When we lift the flap we see another picture underneath and a section of text tells us that “Dd is for drum.”
The images used throughout the book will appeal to young children, as will the bright colors on the pages. Being able to lift the flaps to see what is underneath will make learning fun and engaging.
