As fall moves in the days get shorter and the “air feels cooler each morning.” For some the first snow of the season may fall and for others this is a time of year when they have to worry about hurricanes. As the temperatures start to dip plants and animals begin getting ready of the winter months. Trees withdrew the green material in their leaves which then turn red, gold, yellow and brown. Some animals get ready for a long winter’s nap by collecting food stuffs and by building themselves a warm dry nest or den. Other animals migrate to warmer places where food will be more plentiful.

Fall is also a busy time for people, especially for farmers and gardeners who have to harvest their crops. There are also holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving to look forward to.

In this simply written little picture book the author’s informative text is accompanied by superbly reproduced photographs, each one of which beautifully reflects some aspect of the fall season. Small children will be left with a very clear understanding of what to expect and look forward to in the fall months.

At the back of the book the author includes a seasonal activity which children of all ages will enjoy.
