Emily Windsnap should be happy, but she isn’t. Even though her parents are now happily living together, and even though life is wonderful at All Points Island, and even though she has two wonderful best friends, something in Emily’s life is missing.

Soon after she realizes this disturbing fact, Emily and her friends and family hear that all is not well in Bridgeport, Emily’s old hometown. Apparently the townsfolk are preparing to build on a hitherto undeveloped piece of land, and their excavating activities are putting the mermaid town of Shiprock in jeopardy. Neptune – yes that Neptune – decides to send Emily and her parents back to Bridgeport where he hopes they will be able to build a bridge of friendship between the humans and the merfolk.

The Windsnaps are not in Bridgeport long before they realize that their job is going to be a very difficult one. Emily’s task is made even more complicated when she and her her friend Shona find themselves caught up in a very old mystery that involves a group of imprisoned sirens and something precious that has been lost.

This fourth title in the Emily Windsnap series is exciting, unpredictable, touched with humor, and a joy to read. What makes this story different from the others is that this time there is a touch of romance as well. Readers are sure to find the title enormously satisfying.
