Elmer the elephant is a very unique fellow. Unlike other elephants he not is grey. Instead, he is patchwork colored, which makes him really stand out in his jungle home. Like other elephants Elmer is big, and by comparison his little blue bird friend is small. The tiger that lives in the forest with Elmer can run fast, but the tortoise, as one would expect, is very slow moving.

Little children who like elephants are going to love this wonderful Elmer title. In all there are nine opposites to learn. What makes this book special is that the author has made many of the opposites in the book amusing. Children are going to particularly enjoy seeing some of the artwork, which feature animals doing funny things.
