In two days time, Papa Red will be visiting the forest where Elmer and the other elephants live. One of the older elephants asks Elmer to take the youngsters for a walk so that the adults can “prepare the presents in peace.”

Elmer takes the young elephants “up and up” until the jungle is replaced by pine trees. Here the elephant children see snow for the first time. While they play in the snow, Elmer chooses a tree to take home.

The next day the elephants decorate the tree and they place the presents under it. Not surprisingly, the elephant children want to see Papa Red, so Elmer tells them to “Hide where you can see but not be seen.” They don’t have to wait long before Papa Red himself arrives in a sleigh pulled by six moose.

Elmer fans are sure to enjoy reading this heartwarming holiday season title. The elephants have their own Father Christmas character, and they also have their own way of making the holiday season special for others.
