Spring is a time for pretty flowers, new leaves, and warmer temperatures. It is also a time when many different kinds of animals have babies. This rhyming picture book looks at a variety of baby animals that live on a farm. It also is a counting book, the narrative beginning with “1 newborn foal gets to his feet to walk on wobbly legs,” and then “2 brooding hens sit quite content to hatch their nest of eggs.”

In addition to the foal and the hens, readers will get to see little goats, lambs, rabbits, wild bird babies, chicks, piglets, kittens, and ducklings.

This beautifully illustrated picture book will delight little children who have a fondness for animals and who enjoy watching the seasons shift and change around them.
