Duck is going to give Goose a present. He puts the gift in a plain white box, and then he paints the box, decorating it with red, blue, and yellow stripes. Once the paint is dry, he adds a card and a ribbon to the beautiful gift box.

When Duck gives the gift to Goose, Goose is thrilled. It is the nicest box he has ever seen. Not giving Duck the opportunity to get a word in edgewise, Goose talks about how he will use the box to store his “special things,” and then he dashes off to get those special things, leaving Duck standing there. Duck still hasn’t had the chance to tell Goose that Goose needs to open the gift box to get to the gift that is inside.

This wonderfully sweet beginner reader story brings back Duck and Goose. These two charming book characters have delighted thousands of readers around the world over the years. Children are going to love the way the story ends. You never quite know what is going to happen when you get together with Duck and Goose.
