We humans tend to focus on ourselves and think that we are at the center of everything. It is true that generally speaking we are the smartest, the most creative species on this planet, but other animals do corner the market when it comes to certain things. For example, we humans have yet to figure out how to fly with wings and how to breathe underwater. We cannot outrun a horse, and we cannot out swim a whale.

We humans also come in a very limited range of colors, which is not true of other animals. Indeed, some of the brightest, most gorgeous colors in our world can be found in the plumage, skin, scales, and fins of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and amphibians.

In this beautiful board book master photographer, Andrew Zuckerman, introduces us to ten colors by showing us colorful animals. On the sturdy board pages see a deep blue macaw, a vibrant pink flamingo, a gorgeous red snake and more. The pure simplicity of the book allows children to really look at the animals to see how stunningly beautiful they are.
