There are lots of circular objects and spaces in our world, but we often don’t even notice them because they are just there. In this clever novelty book, little children will discover circles of different colors and sizes. Using die-cut circular holes in the pages and colorful illustrations, Yusuke Yonezu takes curious children on a unique little journey into the world of circles.

We begin with a red circle and we are asked “What can a big red circle be?” When we turn the page we see that it can be a balloon or an apple. Later on we see what a yellow circle can be (a sun and an egg), what an orange circle can be, what two blue circles can make, and we see that a white circle has interesting possibilities. Four little black circles can create interesting things too, and six purple circles can become something really familiar and tasty.

What makes this book special is that it opens up the door to allow children to consider what a circle can be. It also helps them learn a little about numbers and colors.
