Young children are often fascinated by bright colors, and the shinier and brighter the colors are, the more they are drawn to them. In this book we meet animals who introduce us to five colors, and we get to experience the colors in a variety of ways.

On the first page we see a red ladybug. On the facing page there are six of these charming insects with very shiny wing cases. One of them asks us, “Can you crawl like us?”

Next there is an orange tiger that looks out at us from the page. On the opposite page the tiger is roaring, and we can touch his stripy body, which is soft and furry. We are invited to “Roar like a tiger!”

We go on to meet a yellow fish, a green frog, and a blue butterfly. There is a tab to pull on the fish page, and textured surfaces to touch and look at on the frog and butterfly pages.

The book wraps up with a bright and sparkly double page spread where we see all our animal friends together and we are asked, “What’s your favorite color?”

With its sturdy tabbed pages and its convenient little carrier handle, this charming novelty title is perfect for little children who love books and animals.
