Black bear cubs are busy little creatures. They like to play with their siblings, climb on top of their mothers, and climb up trees. They snack on grass and flowers, which they can easily find in the woods and meadows. Just like human children, they have different personalities. Some cubs are bold and adventurous, while others prefer to stay close to their mothers.
In this beautifully presented board book, Donald M. Jones’s superb color photographs of black bear cubs are paired with a simple text to give little children a sense of what it is like to be a little bear. He captures the playfulness and curiosity of the cubs, and young bear fans will enjoy seeing that bear cubs are, in some ways, a lot like young humans.
