Ted’s parent tells him that it is time for bed, but Ted is too busy to go to sleep. We see him undressing and then we see him splashing around in a tub full of bubbles. And there are two penguins in the tub with him!
A little later Ted is told again that it is time for bed, and his response is to say that he can’t because he has to brush his teeth. His companion this time is a “toothy crocodile” who also brushes its rather alarming looking teeth.
Perhaps now Ted is ready for bed. Ah, but no. Ted still has things that he needs to do before he is ready to go to sleep.
Young readers are going to really like the main character in this book who, like so many little children, has things to do when it is bedtime. Children will enjoy opening up the big flaps and seeing what Ted is getting up to, and they will be tickled when they see, at the end of the tale, who his animals friends really are.
