Bear has just woken up from his long winter nap and he is thin and very hungry. He is so hungry in fact that no amount of food seems to fill him up. First he eats the grass outside his cave but after he has eaten his entire lawn he finds that he is still ravenous. Then Mouse comes along and takes Bear to a place where there are loads of strawberries. Bear eats and eats and yet he still needs more food. Hare appears on the scene and when Bear bellows "I'm HUNGRY" Hare leads Bear and Mouse to a clover patch. Once again Bear finds that after his clover snack he still "wants more." Next Badger comes along and he takes his friends to the stream where there are plenty of fish. But, as before, Bear is still not satisfied after a big fish meal.

In a bouncy rhyme with full page color illustrations "Bear Wants More" tells a delightful spring story about a hungry bear but it also shows us what true friendship can be like. For, back in Bear's cave, his other friends are planning a surprise for him. As Mouse, Hare, and Badger feed their large friend, the rest of the group are busy getting something together that MIGHT, just might, fill Bear's hungry tummy.

With charming illustrations and sturdy boards which are just the right size for small hands, this is a perfect book for little children.
