In stories, movies, and television shows we often see images of animals wearing clothes. In such situations, the animals look very natural, sporting hats, boots, jackets, and dresses. Sometimes we see real dogs wearing clothes when we walk around town, and they seem happy enough in their plaid coats and fluffy jackets.

Generally speaking though, animals really are not suited to wearing clothes. Why? Well, can you imagine what would happen if a porcupine tried to wear a dress, or if a snake tried to put on a pair of shorts? And what about a hen? What would happen to her eggs if she was clad in a pair of pants?

This clever board book is deliciously funny, and little children will find it hard not to giggle when they see the pictures that accompany the text. The book is the perfect thing to read on a things-are-not-going-very-well day.
