Children enjoy solving puzzles of all kinds. They like being challenged to figure things out, and of course they love it when they find the solution to the puzzle on their own.

In this simple yet engaging board book, children are challenged, on every spread, to find the one thing on the page that is “almost like the other things,” but which nevertheless does not fit.

For example, on the first page we see pictures of a chicken, a duck, a goose, and a teapot. The teapot looks a lot like the birds, but it still does not belong in the collection because it is piece of kitchenware.

Next we see a spread covered with images of horses of all kinds. There is a big farm horse, a little pony, a race horse, and…a rocking horse. Though the rocking horse is a horse, it is a toy and not a real animal and so it is the one that does on belong on this page.

In all there are twelve puzzles to figure out in this book, and in the back children are presented with the solution to each puzzle in picture form.
