Learning opposites can be a lot of fun, especially if you have the right tools to hand. This book is just such a learning tool, though it is so much fun to explore that it is more like an entertaining journey.

We begin our journey by looking at a picture of a long dachshund that is short, which is how all dachshunds are. When we lift the colorful full page flap on the facing page we are presented with a really tall picture of a really tall giraffe.

Next we meet a “quiet rabbit” that is sitting on its hunkers minding its own business. When we open the flap on the facing page we are confronted with a pop-up of a “loud lion.”  These two animals surely are opposites on many levels!

Children are going to have a wonderful time exploring the pop-ups and other novelty features in this marvelous book. There are ten pairs of opposites to look at, and children will have no trouble remembering the concepts that they learn.
