We are going on a journey into some of the world’s rainforests and just like in any other habitat, these remarkable places are full of babies of all kinds. Some are fluffy, some are spotted, some have sharp little teeth and whiskers, and some have funny little faces and snub noses. They all make their own particular baby noises which their mother’s recognize but do we know who their mothers are?

Here is a baby that makes an “Ooh! Ooh!” sound. It has long red hair and deep brown eyes. Do you know who its mother is? And what about this baby over here? It has huge eyes and big round ears. It is a tarsier and all tarsiers can turn their heads “almost all the way around.” That should make it much easier for the mother tarsier to keep an eye on her baby.

Little children will greatly enjoy trying to guess what these baby animals are. With its sturdy boards and wonderful photographs, this book is sure to be a firm favorite and children will quickly be asking to learn more about the creatures that they see in the pictures.
