Our planet is a wondrous place. Unfortunately, we don’t always do the right thing when it comes to taking care of our precious home. Sometimes this is because we don’t realize how threatened our world is, and sometimes this is because we just don’t know enough about the issues. This alphabet book provides young readers will all kinds of empowering information about the environment and what we can do to save it.
For each letter of the alphabet the author address one topic. For example on the F page “F is for fossil fuels.” In the text the author explains what fossil fuels are. He then goes on to explain - on the “G is for Greenhouse Gases” page - how fossil fuels and other factors are contributing to global warming.
On each page, the author encourages his readers to interact with the book by offering them “Did you know?” facts and by asking them questions. On the “N is for Native” page he asks his readers if they know where the plants that they see around them came from originally. “How can you find out?” he asks.
Packed with information and with attractive illustrations throughout, this picture book will help children to better understand and appreciate their world.
