  Suze is worried. It has been a hard year. She has had to get used to living in California after being a New Yorker all her life, and she has also made the mistake of falling in love with a ghost called Jesse. That’s right, a ghost. Suze is a mediator, a person who can communicate with ghosts. It is her job to help restless ghosts settle their earthly problems so that they can move on to whatever comes next. Of course she is not supposed to fall in love with ghosts but…well…somehow it happened.

  Aside from the obvious problems, Suze’s relationship with Jesse has been further complicated because Paul Slater, another mediator, is determined to claim Suze for himself. If Suze does not cooperate with Paul, he will send Jesse on to the next world, whether Jesse wants it or not.

  Desperately Suze tries to keep Paul happy. Then she finds out something truly terrifying. Apparently, mediators can travel back in time. Paul could go back in time and prevent Jesse from being murdered in the first place. If he does this Suze will not even remember Jesse. The thought of this happening terrifies Suze and she decides to do everything in her power to stop Paul from following through on his plan.
