Rip Squeak and Friends: The Adventure

Susan Yost-Filagate

Illustrated by Leonard Filgate

Picture Book (Series)

Ages 4 to 8

Rip Squeak Press, 2005, 0-9672422-9-0

Rip Squeak, his sister Jesse, and their friends Abbey the kitten and Euripides the frog are looking for adventures on the high seas. Well, perhaps is it just the garden pond that they are sailing on, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t pretend that they are pirates sailing across great oceans.

Everything is looking very promising when a fog blows in. To make matters worse some kind of enormous creature is moving under the water, creating waves that buffet their little ship. Naturally enough Rip, Jesse and their friends are quite frightened of the monster. When Rip falls overboard the rest of the group are terrified that he has been captured by the pond creature.

In this little story of adventure Rip and his friends learn that things are not always what they seem. In the process, they acquire a new friend to share their games with them.

Rich luscious artwork brings Rip and his world to vivid life, and this Rip Squeak story will surely delight Rip Squeak fans of all ages.
