Mary Cronk Farrell

  Mary Cronk Farrell has loved books and reading every since she can remember. She enjoyed writing, too. But as a youngster, she thought the life of an author would be boring. After all, you’d just sit at home all day and write. So after college, Mary got a job as a TV newsreporter where she wrote about all kinds of exciting things that were happening, everything from murders to fires, floods, and factory shut-downs. Her favorite part of the job was meeting and talking to different people everyday and listening to their stories. After ten years in TV and radio news, Mary took a leave to raise her children. Eventually when the last of her three kids started school and the house was peaceful and quiet, she decided maybe it would actually be very enjoyable to sit at home all day and write. So that’s what she did. Mary has written newspaper and magazine articles, a regular column on family life, two books for children and one for parents. She also enjoys cooking, running, cycling, yoga and growing organic vegetables. But her most favorite thing in the world is chocolate
