Life at the Bed and Biscuit pet boardinghouse is usually quiet peaceful. Now however, the place is in an uproar. The local wildlife shelter asked Grampa if he can board some of their sick inmates, and he is scrambling to take care of several troubled animals. There is a goose with an arrow through its neck, a muskrat with an injured foot, and two orphaned fox kits that need food and care.

Grampa’s pets - Ernest the pig, Milly the cat, Gabby the mynah, and Scottie the puppy - do their best to make the visitors feel welcome, but it is an uphill business. The muskrat is grumpy, the fox kits are fearful, and the goose is homesick. None of the patients want to have anything to do with Grampa’s animal family. Will they be able to heal these reluctant patients?

This charming book will delight readers who enjoyed the first Bed and Biscuit title, Welcome to the Bed and Biscuit. Readers will not only enjoy the little adventures the animal and human characters have, but they will also appreciate how hard it is to care for wild animals. The author provides her readers with further information about muskrats, red foxes, and Canada geese at the end of the story.
