Mama Owl is very distressed because her baby is hiding and she does not where her child is. Mama Owl and Mama Monkey look up in the tree and they see something hanging from a branch that is hidden by the leaves. Could this be Baby Owl? On closer examination they discover that Baby Monkey is hiding in the tree and Baby Owl is still missing.
In the meadow Mama Owl perches on a wooden fence looking at some bales of straw. Mama dog is with her and the two mothers see that there is something in among the bales. Could Baby Owl be hiding there? When one of the bales is lifted aside the mothers find out that Puppy, Mama Dog’s child, is hiding there and he is licking his paw.
Little children are going to enjoy trying to guess who is hiding behind the lift-the-flaps in this book. With a rhyming text, wonderful artwork, and a perfect ending, this is a book little children will enjoy exploring again and again.
