Little children love to make noises. They like to meow like a cat, bark like a dog, copy the sounds a police car siren makes, and roar like a lion. In this book, Steve light explores the sounds eight different kinds of vehicles make.

He begins with a garbage truck that goes “Burbaba Burbaba Burbaba Screech Beep-Beep-Beep Crunch Crunch Crunch.” To accompany the sounds (which are written in type that gets larger and larger) there is an illustration of a green garbage truck that is driving across the page and spewing clouds of black smoke from its exhaust pipe.

Further on in the book, children will encounter an auto carrier. The truck makes “Rooooor” noises, and the cacophony ends with two loud “HONK HONK” sounds.

Little children are going to have so much fun with this book, though their grownups might want to invest in a pair of earplugs! The sounds are deliciously noisy, and the brightly colored watercolor illustrations will delight little boys and girls who like to watch large vehicles rumble by.
