Tiny Town may be small, but it has a lot to offer visitors. There are all kinds of delightful shops in the town, and we are going to visit a few of them with a little girl and her cat for company.

Our visit begins at the bakery where luscious desserts can be found. Cakes, macarons, cupcakes, and other sweet delicacies fill the shelves, and the hard part will be deciding what we want to buy.

Next there is the pet shop. Here we can look around until we find the “perfect pet.” There are birds, fish, a turtle, a hedgehog and other creatures.

If you have a fondness for toys then you are going to love the next shop that we go to. The toy shop is full of wonderful things to play with. There are dolls and stuffed animals, puzzles and blocks. There are even supplies for playing dress up, and our guide and her cat both try out some pink mustaches for size.

Children are going to love this cunning little book. There are cut out windows on every spread that they can look through, and in all they will visit six shops, an ice cream parlor, and the little girl’s home. On every spread some of the items shown in the illustrations are annotated with their names. Readers are going to enjoy following the little girl and her bespectacled feline companion from place to place in charming Tiny Town.
