It is Thanksgiving and everyone in the Perkins family is ready for the special day. Everyone is neat and tidy and most of all they ready for the upcoming feast but when they all sit down at the dining table no feast is forthcoming. Finally Amanda the cook arrives to tell everyone that the dinner, a turkey of course, is stuck in the oven and will not come out. Not only that, but the vegetables are stuck in the dumbwaiter which carries food from the kitchen below stairs to the dining room above.

Now, just in case you have not met the Peterkins before, I should tell you that what followed was typical for this accident-prone family. A simple problem escalates until it has become one of enormous proportions. And this is just what happens on this occasion. Accidents and misfortunes, mostly of a humorous nature, follow the Peterkins wherever they go. Thankfully there are others in town who are good at solving problems and the Peterkins Thanksgiving feast is saved.

Ridiculously funny, and beautifully illustrated with Wendy Anderson Halperin?s whimsical artwork this companion volume to "The Peterkins? Christmas" is sure to become a holiday favorite. Only the Peterkins family could manage to lose their Thanksgiving feast in their own house!
