A boy’s father is an inventor and he has just completed what the boy thinks is his father’s greatest invention: The Monster Machine. If you put the right ingredients into the machine’s funnel, things like spiders, sprouts, and “goo,” it will make monsters, “all kinds of monsters.”

The boy has a wonderful time with the monsters, which are intelligent and friendly creatures who play games and do tricks. All is going well until one day, when the monsters stop playing games. The monsters realize that they do not belong in our world, and they want to go and live in the world where monsters belong. The problem is that no one knows how to get to this world.

In this delightful picture book we get to meet a colorful group of monsters who are quite charming. Children will be eager to see how the boy and his father help their unusual friends solve are very big problem.
