Ben is a boy who has a problem. He likes to tell stories. A lot. One day he goes to the edge of the forest and yells, “Look, everyone! It’s Bigfoot.” People come to see what he is talking about and of course, Ben cannot show them Bigfoot, though he tells them some great stories and he shows off the Bigfoot footprints that he made. People wait and wait to see Ben’s Bigfoot, and eventually they decide that Ben made up his Bigfoot stories. As one can image, they are not best pleased with the boy.

Ben sits against a tree feeling sorry for himself, which is when he hears a sound coming from the forest. To Ben’s amazement a very large Bigfoot walks out and talks to him. The Bigfoot doesn’t normally have anything to do with humans, but he rather likes Ben, and he really likes Ben’s bike. Ben shouts at the top of his lungs, telling everyone that he sees Bigfoot and that the monster is stealing his bike and his dog. Not surprisingly no one comes. They all think that Ben is a liar.

Children are going to enjoy reading this clever take on the boy who cried wolf story. Children will see firsthand why it is important to always tell the truth and they will laugh when they see how Bigfoot, who narrates the story, deals with the little boy.
