Once upon a time three little pigs left their mother’s home to go off and build homes of their own. Two of the little pigs were lazy and not very clever. One chose to build his home out of straw and one chose to build his home out of sticks. Both of these houses were very flimsy. The third little pig was hardworking and clever and he built himself a very sturdy house out of bricks.

One day a wolf came along and discovering that a little pig was living in the straw house he huffed and he puffed and he blew that house down without any trouble. The little pig was able to run away and get shelter in his brother’s stick house. The wolf then went to the stick house and blew that down. The two little pigs then took refuge in the third pig’s brick house. This house however could not be blown down and the three little pigs were safe at last.

This retelling of the classic Three Little Pigs story is amusing and it also maintains that element of the cautionary tale which makes it fun to read out loud. This particular book is special because the illustrations are presented in a three dimensional format which will intrigue and delight young readers. Children will have a splendid time exploring the artwork and looking at the little details that are tucked away in unexpected places.
