Tomorrow the seven little mice are going to go to school for the first time. Mother has made them new hats, bags, and shoes, but at bedtime, the septuplets make it clear that they do not want to go to school. In fact, they make a dreadful fuss. Their poor mother does not know what she is going to do to get her children to agree to go to school.

Thankfully, Mother is a very creative mouse and she comes up with a plan. While her children are asleep she rolls two balls of yarn to school, which creates a “track” that she and her children can follow. In the morning, Mother’s children are excited to travel on the “Mouse Train” to school. In fact, many mouse children are. They never suspect that danger lies ahead of them.

It is not easy finding creative ways to get children to do things that they do not want to do. Every parent and teacher knows this all to well. In this delightful picture book, children and their grownups will meet a clever mother mouse who finds a solution to her problem. With delightfully sweet characters and a surprise fold out page, this is a picture book that readers, big and small, are sure to enjoy.
