Father Cat, Huckle, Sally and Lowly are supposed to be going sailing today but it has started to rain. There is nothing for it, they are just going to have to go home spend the day indoors. As they are driving home they run into Rudolf Von Flugel who is driving around in his airplane-car. Rudolf offers to take the children to visit the airport which they can explore and visit even if it is raining.

In no time at all Rudolf is showing the children around all the different parts of the airport terminal and explaining what everything is. Rudolf takes his young guests to eat in the restaurant and they have a superb view of the airport. Later Rudolf takes the children to see his Bratwurst Balloon and the two little cats and Lowly Worm have the adventure of a lifetime.

Fans of the Richard Scarry books will greatly enjoy this little adventure story. Not only do Huckle, Sally, and Lowly see the airport and learn all about it, but they also have a wonderful time in the process. This book would be a great tool for parents to use to show their children what to expect when they are about to embark on a plane flight for the first time.
