Learning how to count does not have to be a chore. In fact, it can be an interesting adventure if you have the right tools on hand. One such tool is this clever board book, which uses cut out windows and wonderful illustrations of circus scenes to narrate a classic counting nursery rhyme.

We begin our bookish adventure with the number one and a picture of a colorful square. On the facing page, there is a number two and two yellow dots, which are seen through a window. When you turn the page you see a picture of a large clown boot, and there is a little mouse (in a clown outfit) who is buckling up his shoe. Next comes number three (with three lines) and number four (with four squares). Turn the page and you will see our little mouse balancing on a ball while he tries to open the door because someone is knocking on it.

With cunning illustrations showing scenes from circus life, and interesting novelty features, this is a board book that little children will enjoy exploring.
