Nut is a little mouse and Bolt is a donkey, who just happens to be Nut’s best friend. Nut is the kind of mouse who will do anything for her friend. She brushes Bolt’s teeth, brings him snacks, combs his hair, braids his tail, listens to his problems, and laughs at his jokes. She knits him sweaters and helps the donkey with “little steps and with big ones.” In short, Nut does an awful lot for her large chum, and he gives her something precious in return.
This delightfully sweet, gently funny picture book celebrates the power of friendship. Children will be amused to see how many ways the little mouse helps her hoofed friend. It turns out that Nut is a very resourceful and loving companion, and her size certainly does not slow her down when it comes to taking care of her rather large friend.
