Charley has a wobbly tooth and it is time for him to go to the dentist. Because it is his first visit to the dentist's office, Charley is feeling rather nervous and his friends Maisy, Tallulah, Eddie, and Cyril all go with him to give him moral support.

When it is time for Charley to go into Dr. Biteright's office, Maisy goes in with her friend holding his hand so that he won't be afraid. As it so happens the doctor is very kind letting Charley do up and down in the special chair and very gently looking at all of Charley's many teeth. In no time at all Charley is able to leave and he is given a couple of treats to take home with him.

Many children are frightened at the prospect of going to the dentist for the first time and they will find it comforting to know that Charley, a large crocodile, is also nervous. It will help them to see what Charley experiences and thus they will know what they can expect when it is there turn to sit in the big chair. Maisy fans will enjoy seeing what a good friend Maisy is and Lucy Cousins' bright cheerful illustrations are just as charming as ever.
