World War II

From 1939 until 1945 many countries around the world were war battlegrounds. Those that were not directly involved sent soldiers and supplies to the war zones. Battles were fought across Europe, in North Africa, in Asia, and across the Pacific. Those who did not go to fight worried about the fate of those who did, and they worked hard to do their part for "the war effort." Life for many changed radically, and for some, the memories of this extraordinary war still has an impact today. World War II was greatly affected by what took place during World War I.
