School Children's Blizzard

On January 12th, 1888, a fierce blizzard hit the plains states of the United States. Many children were at school when the blizzard hit. Some teachers tried to get their students to their homes, while others waited out the storm in their school houses. There are many tragic and heroic stories about the people who were affected by this storm. Another storm, the Great Blizzard of 1888, hit the east coast of the United States just a few months later.
