Great Depression

The Great Depression was a period of economic downturn that lasted many years, and that had a profound effect on the lives of millions of people. In the United States the effects of the depression were further exacerbated by a series of droughts, which created the Dust Bowl. The Great Depression ended in the United States soon after the beginning of World War II.
