Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was a runaway slave who served as a conductor on the Underground Railroad, helping slaves to flee from the south and to find freedom and new lives in northern states and in Canada. She risked her life doing this dangerous work, and during the Civil War she served as a spy for the Union side.
