The American Revolutionary War was not one of those neat and tidy sort of conflicts. Instead it was a struggle which lasted many years and which affected the entire country. It can be said to have began on April 19th 1775 and only really ended when the Treaty Of Paris was signed on September 3rd, 1783.

This book is beautifully presented with maps, full-page colour art and "Quick Facts" boxes throughout the book which are packed with interesting facts about the War. The author presents his readers with a book which covers every aspect of the war from why it occurred in the first place, to who the main characters in the fight were, to descriptions of the battles fought. As the events of the conflict are presented also in chronological order it is possible to understand how one event affected those that followed and how the pieces of the complicated puzzle that made up this unique conflict fit together to create one extraordinary picture of a people determined to acquire their liberty and independence at any cost.
