Cleo the orange cat is going outside to explore. She follows her little boy around and sees a “bicycle, shiny and red.” Next, she sees a beautiful sunflower that has a “round yellow head.” Cleo happily sits on a purple blanket while her boy picks plums “purple and sweet” off the trees. After their work is done, Cleo and her boy share some pink ice cream. Cats like ice cream too you know!

Cats are not partial to apples though, so while her boy eats a crunchy green apple, Cleo happily stands next to him and he strokes her. Colors and special moments seem to fill Cleo’s day.

In this charming board book children can go exploring with Cleo the cat, learning about colors as they go. Bright cheerful artwork fills the pages with color, and at the back of the book the author gives children the opportunity to practice what they have learned. Cleo, of course, is there to help them.
