A group of animal builders are hard at work on a construction site. Big Stan and Little Sam look at the plan for the building that they are constructing, while Bill in his loader and Dan in his dozer clear the ground.

Fred then gets busy with the excavator. Fred is suited to this job because he “loves to dig and dig.” Fred’s work is mostly solitary, but Melody in her crane and Bob on his forklift work together. Melody lifts up a heavy load of bars, which she lowers down to Bob’s forklift.

Dustin the beaver drives up in the cement mixer, and soon the cement will be used on “walls that need fixing.”

Children who like to watch what is going on in construction sites are going to thoroughly enjoy meeting some of their favorite construction machines as they look through this book. They get to see the machines at work, meet the machine operators, and they also see the construction project when it is finished.
