Blue Boat is a tugboat, a “rough” and “tough” vessel that spends it day pulling and pushing ships and boats where they need to go. One day the captain gets a mayday call. A sailing vessel is in distress. The rudder is broken and a nor’easter is “blowing in.” Big Blue is going to have to go to the rescue.
Other boats respond to the call too, but when they get out into open water the high waves and strong winds are too much for them and they have to turn back. The only one who keeps going is Blue Boat.
Little children are going to love meeting the little, blue, tubby hero in this story. Bravely he ventures forth to save the day, giving children a feel-good tale that has a happy ending.
