All over the world children go to school. They learn to read and write, to “count and experiment,” and to learn about “science and geography and language.” School is also a place to learn about art and music. Children learn from their teachers and from their classmates. Their time in school helps them to better understand how to share, how to get along, and how to make friends.

Children experience school in different ways depending on where they live, however certain things are the same irrespective of where they are. Whether they go to school on foot, in a bus, or on a rickshaw they learn meaningful life skills at school. Whether they go to school in a school building, a home, or a tent, children learn to think, to reason, and to better understand the world around them.

This meaningful nonfiction picture book uses photos and a simple text to show young readers that being able to go to school is a privilege and a gift.
