Katie Davis

Children’s author/illustrator Katie Davis has published ten books, nine of them for children and one for adults, an ebook, How to Promote Your Children's Book: Tips, Tricks, and Secrets to Create a Bestseller. She appears monthly on the ABC affiliate show, Good Morning Connecticut, recommending great books for kids. Katie also produces Brain Burps About Books, a podcast about kidlit, a blog and monthly newsletter. Katie has taught in a maximum security prison teaching Writing for Children and over the last dozen years has presented and keynoted at schools, writing conferences, and fundraising galas. She has designed and run webinars to teach writers how to build a platform to support their careers and has created book trailers for her books -- in fact, two of her videos are finalists in the School Library Journal Trailee Awards competition (voting is going on now). Katie is a two-time Cybils judge and has also judged the Golden Kite, smartwriters.com, and Frontiers in Writing awards. Katie is on the Advisory Board for the Brooke Jackman Foundation, a literacy-based charity and in October 2011 her book, Little Chicken's Big Day was used as the cover art for the prestigious Horn Book Guide.
