Kit Grady

Kit Grady is a children’s illustrator living in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina.  Her love for drawing animals, nature and children began very early.  She continued her passion studying art at Virginia Commonwealth University and later studied under picture book Caldecott Winners, Uri Shulevitz and Gale Haley.  An early assignment with a local newspaper for a weekly children’s activity page led to a venture for a line of greeting cards.    Her first book, by Windswept House Publishers was followed by projects with The United Methodist Publishing House/Cokesbury, and Kicks  Publications.  She later wrote and illustrated a leveled reader with educational publisher, Kaeden Books.   Kit has illustrated many books for Guardian Angel Publishing.  She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.  Kit enjoys a palette of bright colors, lots of action, and lively expressive creatures and animals full of antics and fun.

When not drawing, you may find her visiting schools and teaching art classes.  She is living the life she loves.
