Annie has a lovely garden in her yard, which is full of flowers that she planted herself. Often Annie’s cousin Henry, and Henry’s dog Mudge, come over to spend time in Annie’s garden. One day the children and their pets are in the garden when they notice that a hummingbird is hovering over one of Annie’s pink petunias. The children are delighted to see the tiny visitor, and they are determined to do what they can to get more hummingbirds to visit. Annie does not have any more money to buy more petunias, so what can the children do to attract more of the tiny birds to her garden?

Children who are learning to read for themselves and who are ready to explore titles with several short chapters, are sure to enjoy the Annie and Snowball books. In this story, Annie and her cousin Henry find a unique and amusing solution to a problem. Children will see that there truly is more than one way to solve a problem.
