Grandma's grandchildren are coming over, and since she happens to be one of the nicest grandma's around, she is going to make them some chocolate chip cookies. Now, Grandma has two pets, a cat and a dog. The dog is very excited to eat the cookies that Grandma makes but the cat is also interested to find out where all of Grandma's ingredients come from. Off we go on a fantastic journey to discover where butter, sugar, vanilla, eggs, salt, baking soda, flour, and chocolate come from and how they are made. The cat and dog also see how the ingredients are combined and baked to create the most delicious cookies possible.

Cookie aficionados of all ages will love this picture book. Children will be amazed to find out how much work goes into making the chocolate, vanilla, and flour that they take so much for granted. Grown-ups are also sure to discover all kinds of things that they did not know about basic cookie making ingredients. Children will laugh at the antics of the cat and the dog as they discover the secrets of delicious chocolate and scented vanilla. Readers of all ages will be delighted to find that there is a recipe at the back of the book for chocolate chip cookies.

Beautifully and amusingly illustrated this picture book serves as a tasteful reminder that food does not simply appear on store shelves by magic; it has to be grown and processed before we can buy it to make our favorite treats.
